We Moved!
Greetings, everyone. I’m excited to share that BASE Scientific LLC has partnered with Erik Larson, founder of Resonant Devices LLC. Together, we have moved into a 20,000‑square‑foot laboratory located in a commercial district of Ashland, Oregon. I’ve been actively configuring dedicated areas for research and development, as well as for prototype design and testing. We are also investing in the equipment required to support all of the technologies featured on my website, while exploring several new innovations that we’re very enthusiastic about.
I plan to share photos in September 2026 once the facility is fully organized. Thank you all for your ongoing support, encouragement, and enthusiasm for our vision of orchestrating the fourth state of matter.

This photo, taken in April at our new location, shows the setup of test equipment for current projects. Sourcing vintage Hewlett‑Packard and Tektronix instruments, then restoring and calibrating each unit, is a time‑intensive process that requires a deep understanding of each company’s original design intent. Aside from a few modern components, I intentionally combine both modern and vintage equipment. This blended approach is especially valuable in the design process, offering multiple perspectives when analyzing power‑supply designs for our lamps.
Hello everyone. I wanted to let you know that my former hosting provider, Media Temple, was acquired by GoDaddy over two years ago. Unfortunately, my website did not transfer correctly to the new servers, and the entire site—along with its backups—was lost. This was the only project where I hadn’t set up a third‑party backup solution, and more than 500 hours of work disappeared as a result.
I’m now designing an entirely new website using Framer AI. As a co‑founder bootstrapping this startup, I can allocate only so much funding to a professional site, and given that we’re still in the proof‑of‑concept phase, I actually prefer this lean approach. Framer’s AI tools also make it much easier to create elegant, fully responsive layouts, which is helping us rebuild at a whole new level.
Even though I rebuild our website on weekends, my primary focus remains on developing lighting solutions for homes and indoor horticulture. As the climate continues to change, it is critical to develop horticultural systems that are not dependent on weather conditions. Light sterilization, successfully explored in the 1970s using ultraviolet light, remains a promising approach. My father was part of a team at GTE Sylvania Lighting that developed lamps for this purpose.
In recent years, public discussion around infectious diseases has often centered on pharmaceuticals and vaccination, while light‑based sterilization has received comparatively little attention. Once we are fully funded, we plan to research and develop safe, application‑specific light spectrums for sterilization.
In the past, large lighting companies such as GTE Sylvania, General Electric (founded by Edison), and Philips dominated the market, making it nearly impossible for smaller businesses like mine to manufacture lighting products. However, things have changed, and smaller companies now have more opportunities to enter the market. I recall my father facing challenges with his personal lamp designs. Frustrated by the meager offers, he gave up the patent rights to his sterilization lamp for free to India and Costa Rica.
I am constantly inspired by the brilliant minds around the world. In the left‑hand column of this website, I’ll be sharing articles that support BASE Scientific’s vision, either directly or indirectly. I will also post short videos to explain our advanced light‑spectrum technologies, which have grown out of my father’s pioneering work. Thanks to modern manufacturing methods, we are finally able to bring his ideas to life. My father had an innate connection to nature and, during his years developing lamp technologies at GTE Lighting, he came to see that a simpler, more elegant approach to intelligent lighting solutions was possible.
Be sure to check back frequently, as I will update the content as events unfold. Additionally, a quarterly newsletter will be available starting in the fourth quarter of 2026.
I appreciate your ongoing support.
